For sale is a WW1 British Silver Wound Badge To 29628 Pte Bertram Hooper 14th Battalion, (1st Portsmouth) Hampshire Regiment. 
 
Bertram hooper was originally from Bournemouth, and born in 1897. He enlisted into the British army on the 23rd of December 1914 aged 17 years old. 
 
This silver wound badge is marked with the issue number 337203 which can be seen on the scan titled “roll of individuals entitled to the wound badge”. Unfortunately the pin has been damaged on the back which can be seen in the photos.
 
Hooper was entitled to the British war medal, victory medal and wound badge. 
 
Hooper was reportedly wounded on the leg on the 14th December 1916, in Flanders whilst serving with the Royal Hampshire Regiment. 
 
This man was entitled to wear a “wound Stripe" as authorised under Army Order 204 of 6th July 1916. The terms of this award being met by their naming in this list.
 
Hooper was discharged on the 6th march 1918 are being wounded in Flanders. 
 
Hooper sadly passed away on 11th of October 1985.
