About champion library:

The Champion Library was a spin-off of its parent story-paper, Champion. Champion began under the editorship of F Addington Symonds in 1922, and the Champion Library followed in 1929, using the popular “pocket library” format, popularised by the Boys’ Friend Library over twenty years previously. Priced at 4d, with wonderful illustrated covers, two were published every month, until its demise in June 1940, with issue 274, (outlasting its parent by one month).

In contrast to other pocket libraries, all the stories in the Champion Library were drawn from Champion, and its stable-mate, Triumph. The stories were a rich mix of boys’ adventure stories, covering the full range from motor racing, sport and mystery to historical fiction, war and sci-fi. The most prolific contributors were Edward Home-Gall, George Openshaw, C Eaton-Fearn, Dugald Cumming Skinner, all writing under a variety of pseudonyms.
