For sale is a WW2 British Army field service pocket book pamphlet which is titled;
“MORE PICTURES OF THE GERMAN ARMY. NOTE. The purpose of this pamphlet is to give all ranks an idea of the appearance of the German soldier and his armament. It is being issued down to Platoon, etc. commanders” this was published in November 1941 prepared by general staff of the war office.
The introduction states;
“The present publication is intended to be studied in con- junction with "The German Army in Pictures," January, 1941, and is therefore distributed like the latter publication down to platoon, etc., commanders. It contains further photographs of equipment illustrated in "The German Army in Pictures" and also photographs of equipment not previously illustrated. Experience has shown that reliable reports about the equipment seen with a unit may be of great assistance to "I." staffs in identifying it. Some pieces of German equipment are sufficiently distinctive to be readily recognised in the field by personnel who have had opportunities of studying photographs such as those in the present publication. In the captions to photographs of equipment which is not so easily recognised, or readily confused with other equipment, "recognition points" have been given.”
