For sale is a Post WW2 1960s to 1970s Italian Chief Of Defence Staff 800 Silver Marked & Marble Service Award. This beautiful award comes in its original blue presentation case which both the award and case are in excellent condition. These awards/ commemorative plaques were awarded by the Italian prime minister on the completion/ end of there service at the rank of chief of defence staff. Only around 25 of these awards were ever produced and awarded.
The award holds the words “Il Capo di stato maggiore della difesa” which translates to “The Chief of the Defense Staff”. Followed by their signature. Above is a gilded silver & enamel the Coat of arms of the Italian Defense General Staff. This award is marked 800 for 80% silver.
The Chief of the Defence Staff of Italy is the service head of the Italian Armed Forces.
This award measures 13.2cm length x 16.5cm height x 2.2cm depth. This is an exceptionally rare piece of history.
