For sale is a Antique 1850s Masonic United Mariners Lodge 33 Silver Hallmarked Jewels Both Issued To W J Harris.

 
The first boxed jewel is a United mariners Lodge 33 Centenary jewel (this is silver hallmarked for London 1861 by the silversmith Henry James Thompson. This one is engraved on the back “Centenary Jewel Oct 10th 1853 Br W.J.Harris S.W”. 
 
The second boxed jewel is a gilt base metal retirement jewel, which is engraved on the back “Presented to W.J Harris By the brethren of the United mariners lodge No33 as a token of respect & esteem on his retirement from the chair March 1863”. Some of this Medal is silver the arch jewel to the centre. This is a beautifully designed piece. 
 
Accompanying this is 4 scans of research about Wm John Harris. He joined the United mariners lodge 33 in 1837 and retired in March 1863. His trade whilst being a mason was a Tobacco Matr. The Silver hallmarked Masonic medal is in excellent condition. The gilt one has a small bit of damage to the floral decoration at the bottom of the jewel.
