This kings South Africa medal is engraved on the rim “4781 Pte C Bebb L.N. Lanc. Regt”.
Charles Bebb was born on the 8th of June in 1874, born in the parish of clench William, Montgomeryshire. Charles enlisted into the British army age 20 years and 11 months old on the 8th of May 1895. He was awarded a KSA which is present and a QSA, and the following clasps defence of Kimberly, orange free state and Transvaal which are missing. Charles was discharged on the 7th of May 1907 after serving 12 years with the loyal north Lancashire regiment.
The King's South Africa Medal is a British campaign medal awarded to all British and Colonial military personnel who served in the Second Boer War in South Africa, and who were in the theatre on or after 1 January 1902 and who had completed 18 months service in the conflict prior to 1 June 1902.
