For sale is a WW1 British War Medal To 2nd Cooks Mate H S Knight Royal Navy.

 
This British war medal is engraved “M.27571 H.S.Knight.2.ck.mte.r.n.”.
 
Henry Stanley knight was born on the 28th august 1899 in Walthamstow in London. He had brown hair and blue eyes and had a fresh complexion upon enlistment. 
 
Henry enlisted into the Royal Navy on the 5th September 1917 with the trade/ occupation as a cook on a shore establishment Pembroke I. Henry’s mother and father were called Henry Knight and Amelia Knight.
 
HMS Pembroke was the name given to a shore barracks at Chatham. It was commissioned in 1878, moved ashore in 1903 and was paid off in 1983. The buildings, designed by Sir Henry Pilkington, now house the Universities at Medway.
 
Henry was discharged from the Royal Navy on the 1st of May 1918 and was entitled to a British war medal only. 
 
Henry then served in ww2 in the Royal Navy where he was entitled to a British war medal, Atlantic star and a 1939-45 star.
