For sale is a WW1 Welsh Harbour Master Captain Thomas Hewitt Medal Group & Research.

 
 
Both Mercantile Marine War Medal and British war medal are engraved on the rim “Thomas Hewitt”.
 
 
Thomas Hewitt was born in Connahs Quay, Wales in 1876.
 
 
Captain Thomas Hewitt. who died at Connah's Quay yesterday, aged 72. He was harbour master at Mostyn during world war war. He was a native of Connah's Quay and son of Mr. Stephen Hewitt, a well-known Dee pilot. Captain Hewitt was in charge of coasting vessels for over twenty-five years and later became a pilot on the Dee. Thomas Hewitt sadly passed away in 1948.
 
 
His medals were issued on the 30th August 1919.
