For sale is a WW2 Medal, Glass Plauque & Paperwork Group to 4196104 Eric Butler Royal Welch Fusiliers & 2nd battalion rifle brigade. Date of birth 21.04.1921 trade on enlistment was a labouror, Church of England, and enlisted in Birmingham 19.08.1939 for 7 years with the colours and 5 years in the reserves. From 1940-1945 he was a stretcher bearer, and 1943-1945 a ration store man. He was injured on the 26th July 1944 at the fight for Florence at the battle of the Arno line (in Italy) which ran from 23rd July to 31st August 1944. This lot is a great lot containing his war medal, defence medal, Italy star, 1939-45 star, his pay book and a good lot of paperwork including letters and best of all it has his Welch fusiliers glass memorial plaque from the very start of the war.
