This permit book was issued to Mrs Ada Coasby, born in 1883 in Netley Marsh, Hampshire, England. The permit book was issued 3rd February 1917. This permit book is in great condition with its original photo of Ada in the front. This is accompanied with two pages of research.
This act gave the government wide ranging powers during the war (WW1) such as the power to requisition buildings and land needed for the war effort and restricted a number of peacetime activities in order to secure public safety and the defence of the realm. A permit such as this was required for particular purposes such as, in this case, to enter a Special Military Area.
