For sale is a beautiful 11 part demonstration human skull, with a great patina and antique medical screws, hinges and open veins. This is a rare medical piece, with a great amount of detail. The Calvarium is cut horizontally which attaches to the rest of the skull via two rotating hooks. The Sagitta is cut through the base of the skull, and everything connects together via pins and hooks. Both bottom and top mandibles are opened and exposed to roots of definition , dental nerves, cartilage and tissue, which are all reinstated in artificial colour. The right maxillae can be opened up to show the maxillary sinus as it’s hinged. Both left and right frontal sinuses are hinged and can be opened to expose the behind sections. The left temporal bone is removable and sectioned in two parts presenting internal ear in full view, semi circular canals, ossicles and the tympanic membrane. The lower jaw/ mandible is attached to the skull via long springs. The mastoid process is missing revealing coloured areas inside. The inside of the cranium and skull is also been coloured and illustrated to show the routes of the veins and arteries within the cranium and inner skull. The skull does have some damage in that it’s missing the right Maxillae and some of the right hand lower mandible molars are missing. This is a real human skull that has been prepared during the late 19th century. The stand does come with the human skull! Happy to send internationally but it must be insured.
