For sale is a rare Antique 1st edition, The Golliwogg's Polar Adventure
By Florence Upton, first published in 1900.
Featuring the beloved Golliwogg and his friends, the wooden Penny Dolls - Sarah Jane, Meg and Weg, and Peggy - "The Golliwogg's Polar Adventure" is the fifth of Florence Upton's Golliwogg books.
The book tells how Golliwogg and Co. set out to find the North Pole and, after many discouraging experiences, the pole is found!
While the Golliwogg is an old friend, and his placid beauty is well-known, we never saw him very cold before, and his Polar Adventures reveal new beauties - and the bracing climate seems to suit his complexion, and that of his companions. In the Polar regions they look even more robust than the natives!
