For sale is a WW2 British Home Front Police Stations Pet Cat leather & steel Collar. The collar states “Police F.O.Thomas. Station” and then “Brownie” on the reverse, attached also is a small bell. Throughout the early 20th century and throughout WW2 rats in London and cities were a big problem, and military units barracks, police stations and naval ships would often have pet cats to deal with the rat problem, much like ‘brownie’ the cats job! Having pet cats were far cheaper than alternative solutions, and of course you get all the added the same of which people have cats today for!
