This postcard holds the regimental emblem & insignia of The Kings Own Yorkshire Light Infantry.
The King's Own (Yorkshire Light Infantry) was raised in 1756, and has been from its birth identified with Yorkshire. The badge of the bugle denotes the regiment's former special train- ing as Light Infantry, and the White Rose of York is also displayed on the badge and the colours. Its motto is "Cede Nullis" (Yield to none).
