For sale is a WW1 Prince Of Wales Own West Yorkshire Regiment Regimental Postcard By Gale & Polden Ltd. This is in excellent condition and has been posted.
The written note states: “Dear B Man thanks for letter and photo still going strong, hoping you are same. Letter follows at earliest opportunity. Best love Ted” and is followed by a passed field censor 1085. And this was posted to a london address.
This postcard holds the regimental emblem & insignia of Prince Of Wales Own West Yorkshire Regiment.
The Prince of Wales's Own (West Yorkshire Regiment), the old 14th Foot, dates from 1685. The badge of the White Horse of Hanover commemorates the Regiment's service in Flanders in its early days, where it won its motto, "Nec Aspera Terrent" (Nor do difficulties deter). The badge of the Tiger was won in India. The Prince of Wales's crest indicates the Royal association in the regiment's title.
