The King's Royal Rifle Corps, raised in New York as the Royal Americans in 1755, carries more battle honours than any regiment in the British Army. Its motto, Celer et Audax (Swift and Bold), is characteristic of the regi- ment. The bugle is worn as a badge in common with all Rifle regiments. The regiment carries no colours, and is unique in several ways.
