The United Nations Service Medal Korea (UNSMK) is an international military decoration established by the United Nations on December 12, 1950 as the United Nations Service Medal. The decoration was the first international award ever created by the United Nations and recognized the multi-national defense forces which participated in the Korean War.

The medal was established by the United Nations on 12 December 1950, the first international award of its kind, to be awarded to the members of the multi-national forces who participated in the Korean War between 27 June 1950 and 27 July 1954. The Belgian contingent numbered about 3,500 men in all and the medal is thus rare.

Circular bronze medal with claw and ribbon bar suspension; the face with a map of the world within a laurel wreath; the reverse inscribed ‘POUR LA DEFENSE DES PRINCIPLES DE LA CHARTRE DES NATIONS UNIES’ (For Service in Defence of the Principles of the Charter of the United Nations); on original ribbon mounted for wear with ‘COREE’ (Korea) bar.
