For sale are a pair of 1840s Beautifully Carved Black Forest Wood Religious Covers with absolutely amazing detail! The two covers/ boards have carved writing of “Scripture Parables” & “miracles of our lord” on. These are front covers of two very rare books: 1. The Parables of Our Lord Humphreys, Henry Noel [1810-1879]. NY: D. Appleton & Co. , 1848. 2. The Miracles of Our Lord, Humphreys, Henry Noel, London: Longman & Co., 1848. First edition. Hardcover. Which are both first editions, sadly the books are missing, however here you have the extraordinary front carved covers. Recently a complete miracles of our lord sold for £1500, and the scripture parables sold for close to this too! These are truly beautiful pieces, and would look amazing framed!
