For sale is a beautiful Antique 1880s Mounted Taxidermy Exotic trio of small Colourful African Birds. During the Victorian era it was very popular for the more well of people of society to decorate there houses with extravagant displays of multiple small taxidermy exotic and tropical birds usually taken from South America and Africa which unfortunately had a dramatic species drop on hummingbirds and other small exotic birds numbers still affecting species numbers today driving some to the point of extinction. 

 

 

 

 

This beautiful little display, mounted on a ebony circular podium beholds a trio of small taxidermy birds; one (Crithagra flaviventris) Yellow canary, (paroquet) Green parakeet, and a Rufous-winged Sunbird (Nectarinia rufipennis), all of which originate from Africa. All of which are of least concern on the conservation scale and do not need cities certification, and are pre the cities act of 1947.
