For sale is a Victorian Taxidermy Horse Hoof Pin Cushion inscribed “Sunshine 1890-1904” produced by Rowland Ward limited 166 Piccadilly. Rowland ward personally for me is one of the best taxidermists that has ever lived! Horses hooves were particularly adaptable: they would usually be mounted in silver or bronze in a choice of nearly a hundred different designs, including ink pots, tobacco jars, bells, cigar stands, spirit lamps, card and match boxes and trinket cases. This particular horse hoof is in good conditions displays very well, however some of the silver plate is worn on the reverse. please see photos provided.
