1930s WW2 Art Deco Bronze Spelter RAF Pilot Working Table Lighter

Code: 12593

For sale is a beautiful original 1930s WW2 Art Deco Bronze Spelter RAF Air Craft standing Pilot holding a propeller Working Table Lighter. This piece is in excellent unused condition, hinge works perfectly well, flint works great! The only slight issue is the propeller has a slight flakey look to it so please see the photos for more details. This is a very rare original piece in incredible condition.

This very rare, all original English Art Deco chrome and bronzed spelter pilot wheel and flint table lighter is mounted on a chamfered mahogany base. The heroic looking pilot has a faux bronze finish and is dressed in the iconic Sidcot pattern flying suit of the mid-1930s and holds a chrome-plated two blade propeller. The pilot's head tilts back to reveal a mint condition tubular wheel and flint lighter with a chrome cap.

In the eighties this design was reproduced in aluminum with a detachable propeller by the Sasaparilla company and marked and dated as such.

This beautiful piece measures 27.8cm height x 11cm width x 18cm left elbow to right outset finger.

This will be sent via Royal Mail special delivery and insured, and dispatched within two working days.

One of these recently sold on 1stdibs for £975, which was also in good condition just like this one.
