For sale is a Rare Pre WW2 1930s Health Association Eretz Israel Badge.
This is a rare 1930s "Health Association" badge from Eretz Israel during the British Mandate. These pins were used in Hebrew schools in the 1930s. Student monitors wore them to help check and maintain cleanliness and hygiene among other students.
The British Mandate for Palestine during the 1930s was a turbulent decade marked by a sharp rise in Jewish immigration, escalating local tensions, and a major armed Arab revolt against British rule. Adolf Hitler came to power in Germany in 1933. Nazi persecution forced tens of thousands of European Jews to flee. The Jewish population in the region grew rapidly, raising economic and political anxieties among the local Palestinian Arab majority. Jewish settlers bought more fertile land, which displaced some tenant farmers and increased social friction.
This badge measures 2.6cm length x 2.6cm width.
This is in mostly good condition. Some chipping to the paint work, please see photos for more details.
