For sale is a WW2 German 1st Pattern Luftwaffe Eagle Sport Shirt Emblem insignia. It is the large version of the Luftwaffe sports shirt emblem, likely the largest of all of the Bevo woven Luftwaffe eagles. This is the early “droop tail” version, more rare than the later ones, and probably dating from the 1930s. The front of this 1st Pattern Luftwaffe Eagle Sport Shirt Emblem features a large, flying German Air Force eagle and swastika emblem, Bevo machine woven in black thread on a triangular white field. This one was sewn on a sports shirt, with the thin rayon backing trimmed and folded behind the woven emblem. There are stitch holes around the edge where the original machine stitching that affixed this to a shirt, was carefully removed. The reverse of this 1st Pattern Luftwaffe Eagle Sport Shirt Emblem shows the eagle in reverse.
