For sale is a WW2 German Wehrmacht KIA Death Documents lot to auxiliary locksmith corporal Johannes Bernhard, died on March 31, 1945 at 1:00 p.m. in Uelzen in the Wehrmacht reserve hospital. The deceased was born on February 28, 1924 in the Katernberg district of Essen. In one of the documents in English it states “ Your son was wounded by pomegranate fragments on the 1st floor in Stettin on March 15, 1945. Unfortunately, your son could no longer be helped as a result of a general infection, despite all the hardships of the treating Arstes, Dr Sievers, Uelzen. He fell asleep on 3/31/45 at 1 p.m. The burial took place as part of a military memorial service on March 31, 1945 at the Heroes' Cemetery in Uelze. I hereby offer you my deepest condolences. An earlier notification could not be given due to the war and post-war circumstances. At the time, the inheritance items were sent to Switzerland by the British authorities via the British Red Cross and will be delivered from there. At the same time, via the English service center, the German information center fir Kriegaverluste in Saalfeld / Th. the notification issued, which should also make the notification to the relatives. Since we do not know exactly whether this has happened, we think it is the right thing to give you the news of your son's demise again on our own initiative. Senior staff and chief physician”.
