For sale is a WW2 German Das Deutsche Volksgesicht schleswig-holstein book published in 1940, with the original dust cover. This is a rare book produced to show the German population what the perfect German family would look like through a series of portrait photographs.
This very hard to find book is one volume of a planned series of books on Aryan faces in the different parts of the German Third Reich. The series has never been completed because of the war. The volume offered here is on Schleswig-Holstein, the northern part of Germany where the most Nordic looking people live: blond and blue-eyed - the ideal of the Aryan Race!
The 7-1/2 x 10-1/2 inches hard cover book in very good condition, with the original dust cover. It has only little text but 63 excellent full page photographs, made from Erna Lendvai-Dircksen, one of the best and most famous photo-graphers in Hitler-Germany. Lendvai-Dircksen has also published a wonderful photo book on the Reichsautobahn.
