For sale is an original 1930s Boys Scouts Flyfot Silver Thanks Award & Baden Powell Signed Documents.

The first Scouting use of the 'swastika' was for the Thanks Badge introduced in 1908 and it continued to be worn in various forms until 1935.

This silver thanks Flyfot award is accompanied by its original hand written and hand signed letter from Baden Powell. This letter states “This little badge- a ancient and widespread origin as a sign of goodwill - is tendered to you as a token, small though it be, of great gratitude from Boy Scouts” signed Baden Powell.

This award and letter from Baden Powell was issued on the 27th September 1932 to a Mr Grant. There is another letter addressed directly to Mr Grant that states “Dear Mr. Grant, It is the privilege of any Scout, or body of Scouts, of any rank, to present the enclosed THANKS BADGE, to anyone who has done them an outstanding good turn. In availing ourselves of this privilege, we wish to express our great appreciation of your kindness to us during the last two years, and ask you to accept this little badge as a token of it. Force of circumstances has prevented us presenting the THANKS BADGE to you in person, but we hope you will accept this, the next best thing. With best wishes to yourself and Mrs. Grant, We are, Yours sincerely” signed his patrol leaders and patrol seconds. Both documents and thanks award is in excellent condition. This will be sent via Royal Mail special delivery and dispatched within two working days.
