For sale is a rare 1930s to 1940s WW2 Home Front Patriotic British Bulldog Ceramic Planter With A Beautiful Patina. This piece would look excellent in a wartime display, condition wise the paint had flaked in places which helps add to the patina of this beautiful piece, I believe at some point this may have had eyes which are missing, the British bulldog has a basket on its back used for planting flowers Etc.
By World War II, the bulldog took centre stage as the symbol of British tenacity. Britain’s famous wartime prime minister, Winston Churchill, was nicknamed the “British Bulldog”.
