For sale is a WW1 British Royal Navy Officers Steward Dog Tag On Converted Qirsh Coin & Research.

This dog tag has been made on an Egyptian 10 Qirsh Silver coin. One side has been left, and the other has been erased with the following marked on it “William H Brewer L5730 C.O.E Off STD”. This would have been done by the sailor who perhaps lost their original dog tags. These are of wartime period.

William H Brewer, was born on the 4th of December 1896 in Winchester. His occupation upon enlisting was a Farm Labourer. He had grey eyes, brown hair and a fresh complexion on enlisting.

William enlisted on the 13th of October 1914 and was discharged on the 15th January 1920.

He served at the rank of Ordinary Seaman 3rd Class and later promoted to Officers Steward. During his WW1 service he was awarded a British war medal and a victory medal unfortunately these are missing.

During his service he served on board Victory I, Impregnable, Bristol, Victory III, Queen Elizabeth.

Accompanying this dog tag is 2 scans of his service records. Upon payment please let me know if you would prefer digital scans or printed copies. There is still plenty of research to be done on this dog tag!

This will be sent via royal mail 1st class signed for and dispatched within two working days.
