For sale is a Rare Post WW1 Early 1920s Staatliches Bauhaus Candlesticks, made From A Pickelhaube spike plate & Water Bottles. After WW1 and the treaty of Versailles Germany was left in Economic ruin, political crisis, and in ruins, wartime goods like helmets were made into pots and pans, and these candlesticks were once pickelhuabes and water bottles, what’s particularly nice about these candlesticks is that there is a manufacturing tag on both of the candle sticks which state:

“Metallwerke stadlen G.M.B.H Bamberg”

And on the other it states:

“Pretsfelder Nuremberg 17”

After ww1 Bauhaus founded there own design school, and to get access to cheaper more affordable materials they would purchase in bulk military equipment and reclaimed materials to help keep costs down and still provide excellent functionality and aesthetically value. Upon searching ‘Metallwerke stadlen G.M.B.H Bamberg’ you will find an awful lot of research about Bauhaus and how these candlesticks fit the design style, maker plaques and the limited materials they had to work with after WW1.
