A very fine example of the rare battle of Culloden medal this is 41.5 mm across and weighs just over 16 grams it features the Duke of Cumberland mounted on his horse on the front and his army beating the jacobite rebellion to the reverse with the wording rebelion justly rewaded , This was the final battle on english soil of the Jacobite battles and lead to Charles fleeing dressed as an irish maid to France where he stayed for 40 years and ended the claim to the British throne by Charles 11's decendents . 

The Duke of Cumberland earned himself the name Billy the butcher as he hunted down and killed the survials from the Jacobite army in the months that followed this battle .
