WW1 to WW2 Inter War Period War Department Dublin Irish Guards Tunic

SOLD

Code: 12618

For sale is a rare WW1 to WW2 Inter War Period, War Department Dublin Marked Regimental Irish Guards Tunic. All buttons are made from brass and feature the kings crown and Irish harp, these buttons are all manufactured by Firmin London. This tunic is in great condition, all buttons are present apart from one of the smaller Epaulette buttons (which would be fairly easy to replace). Unfortunately the tunics manufactured label has worn away on the inside right of the tunic. Inside the left sleeve, it’s stamped in black ink:

W /I D

D

Which stands for War Department with the Dublin inspection mark (D) below. This tunic is lightly marked with the soldiers name “Kelly 2 Coy” in the inside collar, more writing is present but very faded. There is some light staining to the armpit area which could be cleaned. However overall condition isn’t to much of an issue with this tunic. Will will be dispatched via Royal Mail express 48 parcel force and dispatched within two working days.
