For sale is a WW2 British Home Guard 1940 To 1943 Service Badge. A scarce original circa 1944 period small Crowned oval silver plated lapel badge inlaid with blue enamel, 'HG' to the centre, this example with additional scroll '1940 -1-2-3'. good condition, however a small amount of enamel is missing, it’s complete with original buttonhole fitting, Height 24mm.

Formed in 1940, from the recently raised Local Defence Volunteers (LDV), to counter the threat of invasion from German airborne and seaborne troops (Hitler'sOperation Sea Lion).
